With an existing site that was slow to load and not search-engine friendly, they asked us to completely revamp the website so that it loaded quickly, worked well on mobile devices, and increased their SEO presence.
The job posed some serious issues in that the existing information needed to be lifted, sanitised, re-organised and rebuilt into an effective product catalogue. The data was in a difficult format to work with, and needed to be massaged into submission. The client was helpful in this regard and saved us a lot of work here. Images needed optimisation, and some serious coding was required to create a catalog environment whilst still allowing rental products to be listed.
All in all, a really complex but rewarding job.
The client supplied some AI-generated images for the revolving banner. Despite there not being any snow-capped mountains in Queensland, they looked pretty good.
We incorporated a useful search bar into the header and footer to allow people to identify products via images as well as text.
The website has many really useful articles about the use of their products as well as industry useful information.
We employed an extensive FAQ – frequently asked questions on all product ranges and relevant pages, not just as useful information, but also for search engine optimisation.
The locations page and individual location pages allow users to get in contact directly with the people on the ground.
Basic pages still have their own style – the website isn’t simply boilerplated and jammed into default-style layouts.
Since the company rents equipment as well as selling it, the standard eCommerce environment wasn’t going to work. So we customised it so that products that were for sale of for hire had their own management control.
The footer also included the main search bar as well as options to share content directly on social media.
The ‘Shopping Cart’ is converted to an enquiry list, but essentially works the same way.
As well as the standard eCommerce methodology of placing items into a ‘shopping cart’, product enquiries can happen directly on the product page for faster conversion.
The simplicity of a customised product page belies the complexity that lies within – we created a system that allows accessory parts to be easily associated with products and automatically become part of the ‘shopping cart’ experience.
Product archive pages were customised to include specifications. This allows potential customers to see the products ‘at-a-glance’ and compare easily.
The megamenu concept allows users to easlily locate and select their product range.
Google reviews automatically populate, and customers are able to easily leave their own reviews.
